What makes a strong pitch
Propose one distinct subject, explain the question readers will come away understanding, and outline the context you would use to answer it. We value specific, thoughtful angles that make room for variation and avoid speaking for an entire country, culture or community. Evergreen explainers, careful comparisons and cultural background pieces are welcome.
What to include
Tell us why the subject suits the almanac, what reliable material could support the piece and how you would handle differing accounts or uncertain details. Disclose any relevant commercial interests. Please send a proposal rather than a finished article unless we have agreed otherwise.
